the witching hour
Everyday between 4pm-7pm babers cries, and fusses, and yelps…unless she is being held (and sometimes even when she is held). Which means every day between 4 and 7 here is how you will find me:
(because I know you’ll ask, I have 3 slings, two of these and one of these.) Cooking dinner like this is a bit challenging to say the least. Bet you didn’t know that it is possible to sew while wearing your baby. Also possible to blog, and if the baby is still even design graphics! On rare occasions I’ve even been able to nurse while typing (hoorah)!!
Neither of my other two kids went through this whole “witching hour” thing, so I am clueless about this and how long it lasts (good grief someone please tell me it peaks now and should ebb in a week or two!). Working from home has always presented some challenges, and required balance, but literally balancing my baby while I work?! Oh my word! Even now, as I blog this is what it looks like:
I’m giving up for today. Other than cook dinner I will not hope to accomplish anything until after the kids are in bed and LOST ( i heart tuesday nights) is over.

3 months is the peak, or at least it always was here. Just about the time mine weren’t fussy anymore, they started crawling, so that brought on more reasons why getting stuff done is hard! Good luck Mama!

#3 does it. My first 2 were not like that and then #3…he needed more attention at that time and I would hold, bounce, stand on my head until Bryan would get home. Hen I encouraged the Daddy bonding time. I think it was about when he could be entertained with sitting alone that it wasn’t so bad.

How well I know the difficulties you describe. It will get better. However, working from home still presents its challenges with little ones. I’m not sure it changes a lot, but evolves. I was doing some tweaking with code on my blog, thinking both little ones were playing just out the door of our office. WRONG. Baby had climbed onto the kitchen counter and was eating cold cereal out of the box. Sheesh! At least you have some great slings AND baby enjoys being in there.

Oh boy, do I remember those days. I believe the nighttime
attitude was better around 3 months old, and the all-day attitude improved around 4 months (though wasn’t really cheerful until about 7; she’s still quite clingy all day, though, even at a year old). Good luck! It does get better!

Hi!
Love your blog (first time commenting). Wraps and slings are amazing! I too have sewed with my son in a wrap (amongst many, many other things)! It was awkward, but it can be done! And also, LOST was awesome this week
