Saturday while my husband was at work I decided that I had had enough of sitting around the house and decided to take the kids on an adventure (they’ve been out of school since the 21st).  We drove all the way to Saguaro Lake twice (because I forgot to buy the park pass that you can only buy in town).  I’m quite impressed with myself.  On the spur of the moment and with not much food in the house I packed a yummy picnic lunch (complete with a chocolate cake) and took my kids on a road trip to somewhere I’d never been before.

The kids really enjoyed swimming and thankfully no one went out too deep.  I didn’t get in with them, I sat in a camp chair and supervised from the shore.

We stayed for a few hours and then headed home, everyone slept well Saturday night.  If your looking to make the most of your summer with your kids you’ve got to check out this awesome list of activities that Becky put together- you may have to adapt them a bit for your local, but the idea is golden!
