The Grey USB Camera Cable
appears to have been lost in the recesses of my home somewhere. Which means that I cannot show you any of the 37 pictures my husband took of Yosemite Falls, you’ll just have to trust me that it was pretty.
We’ve had a great vacation thus far (someone go knock on some wood that it continues), lots of driving, site seeing and turkey and cheese sandwiches out of the back of the van. I’ve been impressed by the fertile and beautiful farm lands of central California. The rolling golden hills, scattered with evenly spaced rows of fruit and nut trees. Such beautiful land that makes me immediately relate to every Steinbeck novel I’ve ever read.
We’ve braved the switchbacks and hairpin turns of Sequoia National Park without loosing our lunch; and hiked what felt like 10 miles all over the Yosemite Valley. But, the highlight of the trip was today, when my son learned to ride a bike withOUT training wheels.
If I’d known that all it would take was the instruction and encouragement of older cooler friends, I’d have brought him to Sacramento ages ago! My friend Ann’s boys taught my son to ride in about 20 min. We had taken the training wheels off his bike at home MONTHS ago and he simply refused to even touch his bike; he wouldn’t even try. Today…in 20 min….and now is can even make skid marks! My heart is swelling with pride!
Off to lush green Oregon tomorrow!

Aren’t older, cool friends the best? Hope you had a great time at Ann’s, we will be there on Thursday, so you will have just missed us (maybe it was planned that way?).

Sounds like lots of fun so far! Bummer about the camera cord. Y’all need to pick up a little USB card reader at Radio Shack.
Tell the boy Auntie says “way to go!!” : ) and give the girl a hug from me, just because.

The boys are just paying it forward, their friends taught them to ride, now they’re the teachers. It’s good karma, I guess!
I’ve cleaned everywhere, inside and out, and P’s little puppy is nowhere to be found. I still have a few places to check, like Edie’s closet and in the clubhouse under the stairs, but it’s not looking promising. I’ll keep you posted.
