Simple Pleasures

Last week I lay in bed, the house was dark and silent except for the whir of the ceiling fan.  I paused to appreciate the moment before closing my eyes.  My 2 beautiful children snuggled up across the hall sleeping so peacefully, my amazing husband laying warm and sleepy next to me.  I was awash with gratitude for the simple and yet so wonderful moment as this, grateful to be a part of it.  I silently thanked God for all that He had given me and pleaded that he not take it away.

My childhood was spent in constant motion with very little stability. These moments of clarity and lasting calm mean so much to me. I cannot tell you how much I love my family- my world is better because of them. Especially the two little goof balls above!

I love moments like that. Thanks for the reminder as I am thinking about getting ready for church and honestly, Sunday is the most tiring day of the week for me.
