Poolside Project

Back in May Rebekah and I did a little pattern swap (i’m always interested in swapping patterns…hint hint), she sent me this uber cute Aunt Martha transfer, already stamped on a GREAT towel.

Sunshine Boys

I started it over Memorial Day weekend and slowly worked on it every morning while I waited for the kids to finish swim class.  Today was the last day of classes and I finished it with 10min. to spare!  I packaged it up and sent it off as a surprise to someone I think will really like it.

wrapped and ready

Thanks for the great pattern Rebekah, I can’t wait to work on the rest of the set!

How adorable! The colors are fantastic. And how is it that I’ve seen this transfer a dozen times and am *just now* realizing that his hat is a juicer!? The lazy daisies (my favorite stitch) are divine!

And tell us more about the towels … (or link to a post if you’ve already talked about them) are they great for stitching?

I loved the towel because it was small (I like the flour sack towels, but the ones I get are something like 30″x30″), this one was about 1/2 the size. Also, this is a really tight weave, which makes it perfect for nice tight stitches. I’m horrible at being descriptive, but I really liked this towel, it was so easy to stitch on, and it seems to be a sturdy towel, one that really would dry your hands off.

Rebekah says she buys them at a local store in WA, however I did find them at Amazon, and I guess they come in all sorts of colors too!

Okay, I had to look again to see that his hat is a juicer. Great towels- as usual. What a great way to spend swim lessons.
