Pleated Skirt

If you follow me on pinterest you may have noticed that I pinned (and many people re-pinned) this lovely skirt.

I love it, just love it!  It is such a SIMPLE style too.  I was at IKEA the other day for magazine holders and made sure to look through their fabrics, and I found the cutest striped print….3yards for $8.  It reminded me of this skirt & I decided to make one for my daughter.

I made 1″ inverted pleats every 3″ on both the front and the back.  I brought it together with a waist band.  I used the only invisible zipper I had on hand, which was blue, thinking it was invisible so it didn’t matter what color it was.  I forgot about the zipper pull…oh well.

It looked a little plain after I finished it, so I decided to add the bow.  I think it looks perfect on a little girls skirt!  My daughter loved it and wore it to church this past Sunday.  I tried to get her to wear her while ballet flats with it but she insisted on the salt waters!

Hey, I just moved to south Tempe….
We’re all settled. Any chance you’d want to meet at a sprinkler park or something sometime?

Really cute outfit!! So bright and cheery for summer and it looks cool enough for AZ weather. She is so adorable and keeps growing up so fast. Make her slow down!!
