I’m going to go big on this one: I’m most concerned with how America is going to restore its reputation in the world. Obviously, Prez. Obama is a huge step but I hope that we can redeem ourselves in the eyes of the world and do some good out there.

And I’m also concerned that finding cheap vintage cookbooks is getting harder and hader.

  2. Heidi says:

Enough food and clean water for those with little or none, but especially peace in the world.

  3. SuzyCat says:

Personal issues…it has to be looking to buy our first home. The planning, the searching, the money.

Outside my little world, I’m hoping that Obama and the rest of us really do make a change for the better.

  4. Whitney says:

I am most worried about the economy and making sure we can pay off our debt and also save money.

  5. nicole simmons says:

So excited for the change that will come in 2009, but our country has a lot to overcome too.

  6. Christina says:

The state of our economy. I hope for the start of a turn around this year.

  7. Katherine says:

The economy..hands down!! Obama has a huge mess to clean up….Hope for change :0)

  8. Jenn says:

The future for the children in our nation!!! (clean earth etc etc etc)

  9. Abigail says:

I’m with suziecat, my biggest worry this year is goign to be what grad school my husband gets into and then the resulting move across the state and how we are going to find someplace to live.

if it must be governmental, I would say health care, neither my husband nor I can afford it, and with his school he cant afford to be sick and since he’s goign full time, I can’t afford to get sic since I’m the only bread winner.

  10. Kim H says:

I have to say I think the Economy is my biggest concern for 2009! We have lots 1000′s of jobs in my small town.

  11. heidi says:

i am concerned about the economy in the larger sense, and my ever expanding waistline in the not so important sense. okay, so the second one is pretty important to me!

  12. Marci says:

The economy for sure, which in turn affects many other areas: health, education.

I love your blog. Thanks for the giveaway.

  13. Jaylee says:

What brand of mop to buy for my new floors. And the economy.

  14. karin says:

Moving, buying a house, the school my son will be attending (I will have a child in school!), getting pregnant (if my husband decides we can handle that right now). I try not to think too big, I know I wouldn’t want to be in Obama’s shoes right now.

  15. chelsea says:

I broke my ankle in two places and saturday and havea 9 month old… so thats it for me right now :)

  16. Michelle says:

    Utterly gorgeous, Heather.

For myself and my family, the biggest issues are de-cluttering, cutting back, trying to make do with what we have rather than thinking of ways to get more. Our retirement accounts were all but decimated in the last few months, so we need to get back on track with savings for our future and college for the girls!

  17. Kathleen says:

Love these Heather!! Beautiful as always!

What I am focusing on this year … better resource management. Pass on what we aren’t using. Take care of, use and save what we do have. Supporting and loving friends through rough times ahead is also big this year. Hugs! K8

  18. Heather Grow says:

Hi Heather. I am very concerned about the economy. I’m lucky and I have a great job but a lot of people are suffering. The economy touches every aspect of our society. It affects divorce rates, child abuse, suicide, you name it.

  19. Anne Haun says:

Lovely key rings – boy could I use one of these! My personal concern for this year is the economy. The loss of retirement funds, jobs and rising prices has me real concerned. I know there is little I can do as an individual but it is still a real concern. What is happening to America???

  20. raygon says:

Oh yea! I have not checked your blog in a while, because the last few times I did…it was non existent! I was worried! But ya-hoo! You are still here.
And what a post to come back to! A give away!!! (wow, I am using a lot of exclaimations, I am just so excited you are back!)
I think the issues that concern me are the same as many others. I have had lots of friends lose their jobs in recent months due to the downturn in the economy. I am afraid it will only get worse. Although I think/hope my husband is in a stable work place, I still worry if his job will be cut sometime in the future.
I watched the inaguration a few days ago and man, Obama has a lot on his plate. What a time to take over leadership of America. I hope he leads us in a good direction.
Sorry this was long. I am trying to make up for a few weeks of not commenting. Can I say it again? GLAD YOU ARE BACK!!!

  21. Stacy Gibbs says:

Hi there! I found your giveaway through Flickr and I would love to enter! Your key rings are so cute! I guess the issues that concern me are the economy, CPSIA law that could pass and make it hard for us to sell children’s items, and abortion issues.

I sure hope I win! thanks so much!

  22. Colleen says:

Your key rings are lovely!! Surprise, I am also concerned about the economy – from the big picture for America down to my little picture of personal finances. I am focusing on living simply and preparing for the future.

  23. sara says:

i LOVE your fun keyrings! Especially the red … so lovely.

big surprise … i’m most worried about the economy. but, i trust it will turn around, and am trying to be frugal in the meantime.

  24. Lori McDonough says:

Hi Heather…thanks for the giveaway chance…love your blog.

Echoing the concerns of everyone else here…just trying to keep my family of 5 above water financially. Our oldest goes to college in 3 years…how will we afford it? Also, I hope our country will begin to heal…become unified once again…God bless the USA.

  25. Karen says:

I am concerned about job stability within the economy. My hope is for all to keep their jobs and those that are looking are able to find work. I have a 22 year old at home who keeps pounding the pavement, yet, no one is hiring. Keeping my fingers crossed for the spring…

Yes, the economy and the environment and all that jazz…but what really scares me is that my son is starting Kindergarten this year. Terrifies the life out of me.

I am hoping the houosing market recovers soon. Our house has been for sale for 8 months.
