Patterns!!

A package arrived today with the vintage Superior 151 pattern I bought off ebay! I eagerly ripped it open and was so happy to see the crisp, complete never cut pattern!

Fuzzy Chick

I decided to share the love and scan this pattern for you. While I was at it I decided to scan a few of my Vogart’s in an attempt to help Floresita with her Vogart Index (here is another great resource, no actual patterns shared, but a list of what every pattern is and lots of envelope shots).

Sadly, my scans are not near as clean as doe-c-doe’s. I know my way around photoshop, but I can’t seem to figure out how everyone else can get such clean crisp lines. Forgive the smudges, I hope you enjoy them!

The little chick is so cute! How sweet of you to share! I finished up the Easter Embroidery you (and Jessie) shared last week late Wednesday night and, I’m very pleased with how it turned out - THANK YOU for your helpful tutorial! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/12703778@N02/2332320881/).

Great patterns - is the radish the same one you gave me the tracing of? I too and not that great at neatening the scans up, but I do love the fact I can re-size them then to my hearts’ content.

hi heather - its doe-c-doe here with some photoshop tips to help you!

Once you’ve got your image scanned and its in the greyscale mode - then go to the LAYERS drop down menu & select LEVELS, you can just hit okay when you get the pop-up window. You’ll end up with a graph looking thingy with 3 arrows on the bottom. the far right one will whiten your whites and the far left one with darken your darks. The middle one is for fine tuning. This will get you closer to a Black & White image then a grey & white one.

And the sad truth is I go in and draw on top of alot of mine because the lines are not solid even after doing that adjustment… Oh - and I always put a white piece of paper behind the transfer when I scan it. My scanner has a black lid so the white really helps.

I hope that helps - feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Oh, and by the way I tagged you on my post today…sorry!
