Hey Heather,
But it might change someday, who knows.
Let’s just say my husband would love it if I cooked four days a week regularly. lol I love to cook, but things get busy. And I get in cooking ruts. So no I don’t cook every night. But I also don’t have kids, I just tell Derek to fend for himself.

I cook maybe 3 nights a week. I usually cook enough to where we have enough leftovers to satisfy one more meal. I get really antsy if our fridge is full of food, so I only cook enough days during the week to where I don’t end up throwing past meals away. I think I remember you telling me you guys don’t do well with leftovers. If that were the case here, I would need to cook more.

I cook anywhere from 4-7 nights a week. My son is in travel soccer now, which is very time intensive, so I’m trying to figure out a way to get casseroles and stuff together so I’m more prepared on those evenings. Those tend to be our “ordering pizza” nights. In general, I love to cook, it’s coming up with the idea of what to have that can drive me batty. Love these grilling nights though! Easy to whip up some shish-ka-bobs!

I have 5 kids and cook every night. Sometimes “cooking” means mac n cheese with a veggie. Occasionally we go out or get pizza or take out. The cooking works like a charm when I make a menu for the week and do the grocery shopping according to the menu

Generally I cook 5-7 nights a week. The other 2 are filled with leftovers mostly. Plus at least one night a week is breakfast for dinner which is easy!
Cute story about the kiddo heading to Kindergarten. My oldest heads off on that adventure in just over two weeks. I am hoping for no tears!

today we’ll see if third time’s a charm for the crock pot…. i am a terrible cook and a working-outside-the-home mom, not a good combo when it comes to putting hot meals on the table. i did make a lasagna monday night and my husband acted like it was the second coming, so perhaps i should try a little harder…. hence, the crock pot.

I’m not a huge leftover fan, but cooking every night isn’t an option either. The best weeks are the ones when I cook extra meat on the days I cook and save half for the next night in something easy, like chicken quesadillas.
My kids think breakfast for dinner is a treat, but they don’t know its my go-to meal. Scrambled eggs and waffles are so easy!

My rule: Cook once, eat twice. If for some reason there are no leftovers, or I just dont want to eat it 2x in a row, then takeout, pizza, sandwiches, or a restaurant happen. Cooking 7 nights a week is just setting your future daughter in law up for failure. Its just wrong!

IF I had a personal meal planner, grocery shopper, and nanny to stop the baby from crawling up my legs in the kitchen, I’d cook 7 days a week. Reality says we cook about 5 or 6 times a week and one of those is up to my husband or 12 year old. The crock pot gets used on a regular basis and some weeks has a permanent home on the counter. I think my real problem with cooking is that I want it to be an experience, something to remember. But with kids (and a particularly picky 6 year old) it just needs to be edible and served at the same time each night. BORING!
