Odds & Ends

Tonight is date night- yeah!!  I’m going to try this with my hair…I think its do-able…I even went and bought a paddle brush (I am LONG overdue for a new hairbrush).

I want to make a CD for the carpool kids.  They are always requesting certian songs and I’m always trying to play new music for them.  Any songs you would recommend?  So far the list includes things like : Lust for Life-Iggy Pop, Robin on a Wire-Caspar Babypants, What kind of Cat are you- Billy Jonas, End of the World As We Know it (and I feel fine)-REM….

Does anyone know any tips for ridding your kitchen of fruit flys?  Every spring our kitchen just seems to breed them.   I cleared all organic matter off my counters and yet- they still live (and multiply), HELP!

Did you record the Royal Wedding?  I don’t have a DVR (or cable for that matter), but I made sure that I had friends that did.  Hope to watch it soon…going to relive my little girl day dreams of becoming a princess.

Have a fantabulous weekend all!

What a great hairstyle! Wishing my hair was about 3 inches longer…

A small bowl of cider vinegar will attract and drown fruit flies.

I like Elizabeth Mitchell for fun folksy sounding kids music. She does a cute remake of Liza Jane.

Jack Johnson and the Curious George Movie Music (3 is a magic number).

Fun idea, I may have to make my own mix for my kids.

Hi! I read last week – put a few slices of ripe banana in a jar – cover it with saran wrap held in place with a rubber band. Poke tiny holes in it. As the banana rots, the fruit flies find their way in, but can’t get out!! I’m ready to give it a try…

Place some fruit in a bowl and cover it with saran wrap. Poke a few holes with a tooth pick. The flys go in, but can’t go out. We usually have several placed around our kitchen during the summer.

Anything by They Might Be Giants. They have tons of funny songs for kids. It’s my kid’s favorite.

Hi Heather, I am a friend of Desiree Allison — she said I should check out your blog. We are moving to Tempe at some point this summer. My husband got the job at Marcos De Niza.

Anyway, what an adorable blog, I love it.

I would love to email back and forth a little to get a bit more input on the area you live in.

    THANK YOU!!!!
