My Fix

my fix

My sweet friend Sara brought me a 12pack of unleaded Dr. Pepper from her trip to Utah, she has forever sealed our friendship.  I’m trying to go off the hard stuff (caffeine) and this is a lovely treat that I cannot purchase in the state of Arizona.  Do you live here too and wish that you could purchase Caffeine Free Dr. Pepper (not the diet)?  I’m trying to gather a coalition of local drinkers to write letters to a nearby Fry’s in hopes that if there is enough of a demand they will carry it.  In the meantime I am still looking for more couriers between Utah and Arizona.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?  Something that you crave on bad days, something that momentarily makes it all tolerable?

I have the regular Dr. Pepper when I am having a bad day. Also browsing for things on the Internet, those See’s little chocolates (the foil balls) have been something I have been LOVING since Christmas, hot chocolate with whipped cream, In-N-Out (with a Dr Pepper if it is a really bad day or if I am sharing my drink with Bryan), etc.

I’m more drawn to that cupcake… where is it from?

For me, bad days require large diet cokes. When I was in college and was stressed out, I’d call me mom and she’d always tell me to go get a big drink with ice. That has stuck with me :)

And of course, it always requires some sweet treat on the side, not unlike that cupcake!

I’m a Dr. Pepper type, unless I can get my mitts on some Cheerwine (made & distributed here in NC!) If you like Dr. P, I invite you to come here and try some Cheerwine.

Oh, I also love a trip to the Target. Really cheers me up when I need it. I don’t need to buy anything (except a Dr. Pepper for me and a popcorn for H), but just strolling down the aisles brings a smile to my face.

Really, really bad days call for trips to Chandler Fashion Center. I’ll start at Nordstroms and browse the purses then shoes. Follwed by browsing POttery Barn for sales then on to JCrew for ideas. Then I’ll stop at Barnes & Noble for coffee and reading magazines. Maybe even sneaking a cupcake or rice krispie treat. Also - I have couriers that bring me Old Dutch Dill Pickle Chips. It is my weakness.
