Just the Two of Us
I was a bit worried about how the “baby” (I’m going to call her that until she’s married) was going to handle the big kids going to school. Her built in entertainers and playmates were going to be gone all day and I thought she might miss them or be bored.
I am pleased to say she doesn’t seem to mind! We’ve just had the best few days together, just the two of us. She is just the best little companion. She happily wanders the house and keeps herself entertained. Some things I’ve noticed about her….She likes to have the TV on, but will not watch it. I’ll turn Sesame Street on after the big kids leave and she walks away from it. BUT, if I turn the TV off, she’ll wander back in and turn it back on! One of her favorite places to play is the pantry. She’ll slip between the doors and just stand there playing with the cereal boxes and plastic utensils.
Yesterday while I was reading the paper I went to check on her and found this.
I don’t know if it is because this is my 3rd time around, but I wasn’t the least bit irritated. I thought it was really cute and ran to get the camera as fast as I could. The best was when she tossed handfuls into the air!
I’m telling you, she just could not be a better little shadow! While folding laundry she was happy to sit on the floor playing with the laundry baskets, climbing in and out and flinging her swimming suit around. Again, terribly cute in my book.
I realize the terrible-two’s are going to set in here very soon, which makes me enjoy this little moment in time that much more.

I’m actually looking forward to a similar experience in a few weeks…3 hours with just baby and I.

How sweet and content she is!! Love that you’ve captured this little moment in time with her. My baby will be the only one at home with me this fall and will start preschool. So crazy … I hope she and I can fall into the same kind of happy groove.

I am enjoying my time with just baby and me so much this week! It is nice to have a quiet house again. I’m glad you are able to enjoy it also.
