Getting Some Monkey’s Off My Back

It’s Spring Break here in the land of the infernal sun, which means of course that we have sick kids (actually just one). I’ve spent most of the day dosing out Ibuprofen and taking temperatures and I  introduced the kids to Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches, the son liked them- the daughter didn’t. Sadly this is the only “look what I’ve made today” photo I have, it speaks volumes I suppose about where my heart lies (in motherhood and food).

Peanut Butter & Banana

I took advantage of this down time to get a few monkey’s off my back. Working on some spring postcard mock-ups for a client, scheduling a cub scout fundraiser, and cleaning up a bit around the house (ok, not much around the house).

I imagine I’ll use my nervous energy to stitch up something while I sit in the waiting room on Friday as my husband gets sliced open.  I’m really LOVING this pattern that Alien Sunset posted. Hopefully I’ll have pictures of something more creative than my children’s lunch for you soon.

    WOAH!!!

Did I read that correctly? Your husband is going in for surgery?!!! Did I miss something? Is it serious?

Yum… maybe I’ll have that for breakfast.

And yeah, did I miss something with your husband and surgery? I hope everything goes well for you guys.

I have a hard time with lunch ideas too. Probably because that is when I am my most productive and the easiest and quickest always wins.
I hope you do stitch something lovely or read a great book, anything to help pass the time. My suggestion for waiting (I worked in an OR for a few years), add at LEAST an hour to whatever time estimate they give you.

Hope that hubbie is OK – sometimes we all have days like this. I’ve had a week like it although I am going to make a purse tonight using your tutorial – I will definately post pics, and by that time hopefully things will be a bit better for you x
