Getting My Craft On

Every year my friend Jaylee hosts a craft night at her house, its her homage to the former “super saturday” activities that are no more.  You can see all the crafty projects here (maybe you want to come next year?).  I really liked the “get the freak dressed you dang kid” boards, however, I knew my kids wouldn’t hang their clothes on a hook- they don’t even hang up their bath towels.  Then it hit me- bath towels!!!  I recently repainted the guest/kid bath and was slowly re-doing it.  I thought I could use the hook boards to make towel hooks- at kid level-for the bathroom.

(please ignore the fact that the fabric is sheer enough for you to notice that I did not paint the entire face of the board!- thanks!)

The lighting in the bathroom is terrible!  The boards are painted white, distressed, and “dirtified”.  Then I mod-podged on a piece of the cute Rachel Ashwell fabric that Amy sent me a few years ago.

Look!  They hung up their towels!!  In fact when my son showered last night, he hung his CLOTHES on the top hook and his towel on the bottom hook. Will wonders never cease?  They are also loving that ice-blue super soft rug I picked up at Home Goods.  I’m still trying to decide about a shower curtain…

I’m pretty sure if you email Jaylee, she’ll tell you how to make the boards (which were SUPER easy), and maybe your kids will start hanging up their towels too!

Very fun. I think I need hooks for the boys’ towels. We are having Super Saturday tomorrow. My last ward we had Super Saturday in the Spring and Fantastic Friday in the Fall, why don’t you have it?

Those turned out so cute! They add a lot to the bathroom!
