Garden Fresh
the first tomatoes of the season were picked today!
A nice mellow almost sweet with a hint of acidic taste. There are a lot more on the vine- just waiting for them to turn! I think I’ll be having a tomato, basil and grilled cheese sandwich for lunch today! What did you plant in your garden this year?
Seems most of our days are spent in the backyard with whomever wants to come over and swim with us. Despite my liberal use of sunblock the kids are still getting to be a nice brown color. How are you spending your summer days?

We have planted bell peppers, tomatoes, jalapenos, and spicy peppers (things for salsa). I want a pool. I didn’t use to but now I do, I am jealous of your pool.
My summer is pretty much being on the go, I am wanting a relaxing one now that we have so much planned. Next year I think we will have to limit our trips (I tried this year but it didn’t work out so well).

We’re growing cherry tomatoes and mini bell peppers this year. Next year we’ll do a real garden.
And for the summer, we’re actually headed over to Arizona next weekend to visit family! I’m SO not looking forward to the heat. Over 20 days past 100? Sheesh, I can’t believe how soon it got so hot. Either way, I’m super excited to be getting down there. Maybe I’ll see that new fangled light rail!

Heavens! Those tomatoes look delicious! We just got our garden planted, so it will be a while before we are seeing the fruits of our labors. And that pool looks mighty fine too. I am so jealous. When I went out at noon today, the temperature read 55 degrees.

mmm, that looks so good!
We planted tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, hot peppers, cucumbers, watermelon, peas, green beans, broccoli, salad greens, and more herbs than you can shake a stick at. So far only the salad greens, beans, peas, & herbs are harvestable. Oh! And we have blueberry bushes galore! (In AJ’s currest state of unemployment, he has really dedicated himself to the garden and yard.:) )
