Games
Much to my husbands chagrin, we are a game playing house. My kids got Uno Spin for Christmas and have been playing it since it was opened. Firday I taught them to play Go Fish, and Auntie Sarah is teaching them Crazy 8′s (I never did learn that game as a kid). Saturday we discovered the game Don’t Eat Pete, which Candace blogged about over here. Don’t Eat Pete is perfect for little kids!
Last night we attended Jaylee’s white elephant party (we came home with a nice lint brush thank.you.very.much) where we played “Don’t Eat Cat Poop”, which I think could be renamed to “Don’t Eat Horse Farts”. Jaylee explains the game over here, with a large group it can be a real hoot!
Are you a gamer too? What games does your family like to play?

I love games. We have a whole game cabinet. By far my favorite is scrabble. We played 1990′s Trivial pursuit at Thanksgiving & by sheer luck I answered a few but decided that is my least favorite Trivial Pursuit version. I have been out of the loop where it concerns Uno though. I had no idea it had that little center spin device now. Such a cute photo of the kids. Happy New Year!

We play games. We love games. My new favorite kid game, I Can Do That! (The Cat in the Hat game). My new favorite game for me, Carcassonne. I like Mexican Train, card games, Scattergories, Wits and Wagers (another newer game). Really I could go on and on.
Ann’s husband doesn’t love games either.

Thanks for the link!
We have been playing a lot of kid games since Christmas. My 4 year old is big enough now to actually follow the rules. Candyland and Memory have been the favorites. We’ve played Don’t Eat Pete almost every night at the kids request. I love the one-on-one time I can get with the kids when we sit & play a game for 10 or 15 minutes.

We try to buy a new game each year and this year (with my sister-in-laws voucher)we purchased Cranium’s Hallabaloo. We played it for the first time tonight and the kids loved it. It’s hard to find games that cover a wide age span.

The reason we have children is so they can grow up and play games with us. We’ve gotten so nerdy we get into these long conversations with the guy working at the Game Store. Seriously.
Lately we’re really into Russian Rails, but we’ve long been settlers of catan fans. We have every expansion, and then we combine them and make up our own rules sometimes for variation.
We just got Last Word for Christmas from my brother Mike, and it’s great – works well for a party, and probably pretty good for younger kids.
