Having a common last name we get calls often for others. I simply record their phone number, who called, the time they called. If they repeat a call after I’ve told them they have the wrong number, I mention they are violating the debt collecting practices laws, and that they are harrasing. I provide them with the information of the previous call and kindly request for them to stop before I contact the attorney I have already spoken with. I almost never get a call back after that.

Its a lot simpler than it sounds. My sister reposseses cars for a living, so she knows the tips. =)

Even if it is you (not that it ever would be, or ever has been for us), you can ask them to stop harassing you and they have to stop.

Of course, the blood bank calls AJ about twice a week, so I guess not everybody is subject to whatever.

Also, sorry I’m so far behind on the Internets.

That’s terrible! I doubt the calls will stop anytime soon. Can you just change your phone number? It might be worth it!

I am having that happen to. And it is always super late at night. I doubt they believe that I mean what I say but what else can I tell them? I hope the calls stop soon.

I hate when that happens. We don’t answer my parents’ home phone a lot because of that very reason, people looking for William.

You can let them know they are in violation of something (I will have to ask Bryan what exactly and let you know) if they keep calling because you have notified them that you are not Debra.
