Best Laid Plans
…of mice and men (doesn’t the quote go something like that?)
I had a post all written out in my head, I would take a picture of babers with milk dripping from her chin and then seek your help in finding dresses that are nursing friendly. Hmmm…but this morning she ate nicely and ended up with nary a trace of milk on her chin.
But, she did discover her feet. Which is 3 different kinds of cute in my book. I still need nursing friendly summer dresses…any tips? I’ve already hit Old Navy, Gap, J Crew & Banana and found nothing that I liked. I did find a skirt that I liked, but really I am getting tired of skirts, I want to wear a dress every now and then, as I expect to be nursing her for quite awhile longer (I always nurse a min. of 1 year).

Ah, the mystery of the nursing dress. I have yet to solve this one. I have a few shirt dresses that I have been wearing; the unbuttoning makes for easy nursing. I will confess that I bought them at WalMart. (That is an embarrassing admission, but since you asked…) I was desperate. I prefer to wear skirts and dresses in the summer and nursing just makes it so hard to find a dress that works. I hope that helps!

You sure have a sweet baby! As a nursing mom myself what I’ve found to work for me is to wear a cute “slip” that you want to show, so then I just pull the dress up, but I am basically wearing a skirt underneath, and it also works because so many cute dresses seem to be just a little too short.

When in the heat of summer I found a few camis and I hemmed them shorter to be able to pull the top of dress to the side (or down) and pull the cami up to be discreet.

I will be watching the suggestions here. And be sure and let me know if you find anything good. I love nursing my babies, but it DEFINITELY put a restriction on the wardrobe!
That picture is so cute!
