Balance With Kids
Yesterday my son spent the afternoon at a friends house doing boy things- like greeting each other by making panting dog sounds, and making “toilets” with pool toys…I don’t know that I will ever fully understand little boys.
Anyway, I figured with one kid out of the house I would pop some popcorn and let my daughter watch one of her princess movies- allowing me an hour and a half uninterrupted in the sewing room to work on some large orders I have looming over me.
Well, right as we were leaving to drop her brother off, the little one looked at me so sweetly and said; “can we go to the play center at the mall while [brother] is gone?” We rarely go there because her brother is too big to play and how fun is it to hang out for an hour watching your sister play? I looked at her; “Ah, you’re killing me sweetie.”, “Please”, she said.
So, I gathered up some hand embroidery that I could do while at the mall and we headed off. How could I refuse her sweet little request. Balance is hard to achieve sometimes….

At least you have something to do while there. I would get there and after 15min be bored and insist we do something “more fun.”
