As Tall as A Door
Mother’s Day brought me breakfast in bed (toast and eggs over easy), and some wonderful homemade gifts from my kids! I think my favorite (ssshh don’t tell the kids) was this card from my daughter. Her preschool teachers filled in her answers:
Most of the answers are things that she likes- but I love that she got the fabric store bit right!! The last question is my favorite!!
For dinner I made Morgan’s Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps with Coconut Rice and the PF Chang dipping sauce. Very yummy, especially the coconut rice. It took forever for me to cut and seed all the cherries though…anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced cherry pitter?
Hope you all had a wonderful mother’s day with the important people in your life.

I have this pitter from Williams-Sonoma and for only $13, it’s pretty awesome. I use it on olives, also! http://bit.ly/V7YLE

I LOVE the card. I ask my boys questions about us all the time and their answers never disappoint.

I got that same cherry/olive pitter from B3 (bed bath beyond:) Would the recipe work with frozen (already-pitted) cherries?

Have you tried the paperclip method? I’m sure the store bought pitters are probably faster and may do a better job, but since I don’t use pitted cherries very often, I couldn’t justify the cost or need for a specialty tool in my kitchen. Let me know if you need more information, I’d be happy to fill you in.
