A Little Sugar

A Little Sugar

I’m going to a baby shower tonight- for someone who appreciates the handmade!  I whipped this little outfit up over the last week.  I used a pattern for the pants that I have stashed away- and adapted them to be capri’s (no one wears pants here in the summer- not even the babies!).  The candy fabric is a Japanese print I bought from Julia.  I’ve been waiting for just the right project and I am so pleased with how this turned out!

I used Stardust’s shoe pattern for the shoes, I used a scrap of red leather I found at SAS for less than a dollar.  Would someone tell me what the point of a leather needle is for?  I had one leather needle left and used it to sew the suede onto the shoes…well, the needle bent and then broke.  I put my universal needle back in and started slow, no need, it zipped through way better than the needle meant for leather!

What cute things have you been working on recently?

So cute. I should try to make shoes for Isaac, were they hard?

My brother-in-law and his wife just had a baby girl and I was making a dress and bloomers. This little outfit is adorable. I love your hand embroidery – your stitches are just perfect! I’ve made the shoes before too – I think I just have enough of my material to make a pair for the outfit I am working on.

Oh my Heather, those are TOO sweet!!! If I have another baby, I’m going to plead with you for something sweet like this :)

I am working on some pants for the baby, dresses for both girls, slings and skirts. Love it!

This is the cutest thing I’ve seen all week. Oh, except for my children’s faces, of course.

Heather! That litttle outfit is adorable! Too cute.

I actually had sew-o-rama here at my house yesterday. I made 2 skirts for my sister in law and 10 pair of pajama pants for my boys.

Believe it or not, I barely put a dent in my pile. I have so much more to finish.

Tell me I am not the only one who starts 5 (i mean 25) projects at a time?

ps – I made some of those shoes rectently, they would not flatten out on the sides. what is the trick? yours look great! and I love that fabric. Those Japanese prints are really cute.

this was a long comment. I had more to say than I thought.
