a little help from my friends…

i know late on a friday is really a bad time to post a plea for fashion advice, but such is life.

I thrifted this fantastic pattern last week and decided that it HAD to be my new spring dress.

a plea for advice

I’m going to make some modifications to this pattern (adding cap sleeves) and was thinking of making version 3 but with the “V” in the front not the back….worried that it might not look right.  seeking advice….  the light aquaish fabric behind the pattern in the fabric I’m going to use for this project.

I think that if you are seeking the same feel, I would not put the V in the front but maybe put the V in the back maybe not so deep?
    just my opinion
    but the pattern is great

Great pattern! I cant wait to see what comes of it. Since you are asking for opinions, I will give mine. I would leave it as is. I like the V in tha back and the high neckline in the front. But of course, I would not cut the V so deep in the back. Good luck!

I don’t like having too high of a neckline because I feel like I am choking. I trust your opinion. You will have to share photos when you have it finished.

Well I’m not going to be helpful … I’m with Karin. I personally don’t like to wear a high neckline and would want a V or something in the front too. What about a V in the front and the back? You could always sew up the bodice in cheap muslin to make sure you like the fit and depth of the V. Can’t wait to see the finished dress! I’m sure it’s gonna look fabulous on you!

Heck Heather, if that dress turns out as cute as I think it will, I’ll be commissioning you to sew me one. I LOVE the high neck line. It’s very vintage.
