4,491 miles, 6 states & 4 ntl. parks

That’s how far we drove on our summer vacation/road trip!  We arrived home Sunday evening to find the house still standing (always a plus in my book).  I went through a few of the photos and found these fun ones from our trip to Yosemite.

This is Yosemite Falls, my husband took what felt like a hundred different shots of these falls.  I’m more of the “take 3 or 4 good shots and be done with it” photographer.

My son took this shot…after we had been walking what felt like 10 miles in the bright sun and 90 degree weather.  The park was FULL the day we were there and parking was hard to find, so we parked in the first spot we could and hoofed it everywhere we wanted to go.  I was EXHAUSTED!

I wasn’t the only one who got tired of walking, although no one offered to carry me!  The whole valley was covered in beautiful green meadows with these blooming purple flowers (lupine I think).  I took a few different shots of them, this one was my fav though.  I edited it using an action from here and really like the washed-out/vintagy feel of it.

We loved Yosemite and would like to spend more time there again.  We decided we would definitely rent a boat and paddle down the river, we wished we would have known you could do that sooner!  Maybe for our 25th anniversary we can go back, splurge (room rates start at around $500) and stay here without the kids!

I love Yosemite too (and interestingly Beebe posted about Yosemite too). The place you want to stay at is expensive and only open certain times of the year. I know where some less expensive cabins are, if you are interested.
