3,000+ miles…
and we’re not home yet! We’ve spent the last few days in Star Valley, WY- a place I am excited to say we will be visiting every summer!
Tuesday we went up to Teton National Park and Yellowstone. Oh!- the beauty of this area! Since I can’t share any photos until I get home I was able to snap this video of Old Faithful with the flip video…you can hear my daughter talking to me towards the end.
So far our trip has gone really well (knock on wood, we have a few more days to go), I only got fed up with the kids once after our LONG drive on Saturday. We drove from Newport, OR (on the coast) to Boise, ID; 563 looooong miles. When we finally checked into our hotel I sent Aaron on a wild goose chase in search of chinese take out. We didn’t eat that night until after 9pm, and I don’t think the kids went to sleep until after 11, they were wired and my patience was shot.
Tomorrow we leave for Utah, and slowly make our way home. I am excited to visit Star Mill in American Fork and the Provo Farmers Market (and Jaylee, I’ll be filling the van with boxes of unleaded Dr. Pepper just for you!). I’m hoping we’ll find somewhere in S. Utah for the kids to watch some fireworks…although you can buy them all over this area (something you can’t do in AZ), so maybe we’ll just buy them some sparklers and call it good….
Have enjoyed all aspects of this trip (except I am SO sick of pizza and turkey sandwhiches) but I think I am ready to be home….I miss my familiar surondings.

The hope of some un-caff DP does make your time away more palatable to me. Maybe throw in a couple sparkler boxes and we’ll call it even.

Great video! Love that the girl wanted to tell Mimi about how “it went all the way up”. She has such a cute little voice!
SO glad to hear you are having a fun trip … I miss you guys (thus, the phone call tonight to hear the kidlets’ voices).
We’ll have to have a “What I did on my summer vacation” slideshow with our two sets of photos at our next family dinner.
Have fun in Utah … and a safe drive home!

Glad your trip is going well. Traveling with kids (or adults, sometimes) is not easy. I have only completed 2 of 6 vacations for the summer and I am exhausted. I like familiar surroundings as well.

We’re putting a little package in the mail for your big boy today! Turns out the puppy has been hiding in Edie’s boot outside since the day you left. Edie found it yesterday, but it needed a spin in the washing machine so he’ll be on his way today. Hopefully it will be waiting for you when you get home!

I’m feeling guilty I never got my case to you….it’s still waiting for you. So sorry!
